Keep the Freshman 15 Away

by Mackenzie M. September 1st, 2011 | Vitamins
One aspect of college life that my writing has been lacking in is the importance of nutrition and vitamins in the lives of college students. This is a topic that is very sensitive to many college students, myself included, that is not addressed as often as it needs to be. Through a simple scaling back on fatty foods, proper exercise, and proper consumption of vitamins, the freshman 15 can be cut down, or avoided completely.

Miracle Medication or Dangerous Drug?

by Lori Sciame August 29th, 2011 | Medication
It’s been around for a long time, but is it safe? Phentermine remains in use today as a controlled substance for helping people to lose weight. Marketed under the following trade names - Ionamin, Adipex-P, and others, the drug may seem like a godsend to those who struggle with weight issues.

I understand that a vegetarian diet is not appealing to all Americans, especially if it feels like a part of your diet

by Lori Sciame August 22nd, 2011 | Diseases
As summer draws to a close, remember that fall brings unwelcome visitors - coughs, sniffles, aches, and fevers. Yes, flu season is just around the corner. Don’t be caught off guard this year; prepare now in order to be ready when this common illness surfaces again.

Get Vaccinated

Although the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) doesn’t know exactly which virus will be the main cause of seasonal influenza this year, they have a good idea which one will likely be the culprit. They recommend “…a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most
