People with diabetes are often at higher risk of other chronic diseases. Almost 30% of Americans who are over 65 have diabetes, most of the time, Type 2 diabetes. Aside from these numbers, one out of every two people 65 or older has prediabetes. This means that their blood glucose levels are high, but not high enough for a diabetes diagnosis.
