I flew home from Europe yesterday ,and today I woke up with my left leg swollen. What should I do?

You should go see your doctor immediately. While it is impossible to make the diagnosis without an examnation and diagnostic testing, your swollen leg is very worrisome for DVT. DVT, or deep vein thrombosis, is a blood clot which is commonly in the lower part of your leg. It causes swelling, and pain in the leg. The diagnosis is made with an ultrasound of the leg, which will show the clot. The treatment is with a blood thinner. For some patients, a filter will be placed in a large vein that prevents the leg clot from traveling to the lungs, which is the major complication.
