Get Fit Before Santa Comes

by Chang Song November 5th, 2010 | Exercise
As ridiculous as I am going to sound to you, I am going to say it anyway: It is almost the time of year that America is going to get fat. Now, this is not getting your wallet fat, this getting your stomach fat. It is almost time for Thanksgiving and Christmas, when people just can’t resist those delicious yet unhealthy foods. by Jane Wangersky November 1st, 2010 | Mental Health
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback or sometimes just "neuro", is an alternative therapy used to treat ADHD, depression, anxiety, and many other disorders. The American Dietetic Association and the National Research Council promptly adopted this idea, urging vegetarians to be cautious about eating complementary proteins.

This much is true: Animal proteins (protein from meat, fish, poultry, milk, cheese, and

by MPK October 15th, 2010 | Children's Health
The school year is well under way, which can mean only one thing:  viruses are beginning to spread.  In the past two weeks, two of my children have had viruses and missed days of school.  Thankfully, they are older kids, so I could leave them alone to run to the store.  However, things go much more smoothly as a parent if you're prepared for illnesses.  So, what should you have on hand before the latest illness hits your house?

  1. Thermometer- Yes, a kiss on the forehead is a good initial diagnosis of a fever, but if you have a sick
