Toothbrush Care

You know that you need to care for your teeth.  You should brush your teeth twice daily using an ADA approved toothbrush and toothpaste.  Flossing should be part of your daily dental care also.  Finally, you should visit a dentist every six months for a check-up and cleaning.

However, your dental care doesn't end there.  Did you know that you need to care for your toothbrush?  While it doesn't require a lot of time to care for your toothbrush, it is important that you follow these suggestions.  Caring for your toothbrush will keep your teeth healthier and looking their best.

Depression, which is essentially the inability to experience and express joy, is unfortunately common in adults and teens, and the signs are pretty obvious: changes in sleeping and eating habits, loss of concentration, feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, irritability, social withdrawal, and negative or even suicidal thoughts. Less common is the phenomenon of depression in young children and preteens.

A Lesson about Lifeguarding

In today’s economy, it is becoming increasingly difficult for teenagers and college graduates alike to find jobs. However, every summer there seems to be one stable job: lifeguarding.

Lifeguarding is an investment because you have to pay a couple hundred dollars to get certified, but in my experience, many employers offer to reimburse you. A lifeguard certification (life saving and first aid) is good for three years. However, you have to get recertified for CPR every year.

Some great places to work as a lifeguard would be the following:

  • YMCA

  • NYSC

  • Your local swim club

  • Your local swim school

  • Your local gym

  • Your College/University
